Sparky is an Australian Shepard mix who really enjoys coming to doggy daycare. Sparky is often seen riding in his dad’s Jeep Wrangler with his head leaning over the side so he can have all of the wind in his face. Our outside play area is Sparky’s favorite place to be, and he gets really excited when we play with the water and pools. Sparky’s best friends are Boone (golden retriever), Lilah (golden retriever) and Finnegan (black lab).

A fun Dog Community Wedding
I love when the Twin Cities dog community comes together for a fun time. Last night Molly Feeney who owns Just Paws Puppy Training got married, and lots of our friends were at the reception. In the picture are Sarah (Sarah Beth Photography), Trycia (Pampered Pooch Playground) and Ali (Sidewalk Dog).

A long fun day
Today we had our 3rd dog wash at the Galaxy Drive In and raised over $420 for the Minnesota Boxer rescue. One of our core values of Pampered Pooch Playground is to give back to the local dog community in various ways. Tonight we had lots of fun washing over 85 dogs!
Ellie the beagle is one of the dogs that has been a regular face at the PPP for doggie daycare for the past 2 years and tonight after daycare her mom brought her to the dog wash down the street. Ellie is very well known around the daycare for wearing a different bandanna each time she comes!

As many of you know Trycia loves to take pictures of our doggy daycare and hotel guests! She just uploaded some new ones to the August photo gallery. Deluca who is in the picture is one of the Jack Russell Terriers that comes to doggy daycare . Oh, she comes with her brother Dean. Those of you who have been to New York, will think the names are pretty funny!
I just ordered a camera that goes around a dogs collar so we can see what they see. I can’t wait to try it out!

Mo’s Last Day of Work
Mo’s mom (Lauren) is one of our doggie daycare employees and will be starting grad school out of state in a few weeks and today was Mo’s last day “working” at the PPP. Mo can often be seen greeting people in the lobby and she enjoys playing with Roxy. Mo also loves to hang out with the other puggles and “white fluffy dogs” that come to doggy daycare. One of the hard parts of owning a business is having employees come and go, but I really enjoy seeing them to go on to what they really want to do.

Still HOT outside!
I think everyone, including all of our doggy daycare dogs, want to know when this crazy humidity is going to end. I really don’t mind the heat, but this humidity is CRAZY!! Even the dogs want to just hang out inside in the air conditioning. Meet Keeley who is one of the regular faces at doggy daycare and enjoys hanging out in the Ruff House. Oh, I checked the Fox 9 weather and it looks like it should be cooling off soon.
Last night we got LOTS of rain, so much that it caused some problems for out outside webcam today. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but the problem has been fixed and it is now up and running.
We have something really cool in the works, and I really want to spill the beans.. But I can’t yet! Details really soon! Ok, I can’t keep it in anymore. We started a new contest and I will blog more about it tomorrow night, but click here to get a jump start on everyone else.

It’s a doggie pool party
Tonight we had the doggie pool party and dog wash at the Galaxy Drive In and what a turn out! It was great to see so many of our customers and their dogs having a good time! We raised over $300 for Pet Haven!!!! Special thanks to PPP staffer Anne and Dusty from Modern Life Pets for helping wash the dogs! Our friends from Modern Life Pets will have the pictures online soon!! Ok I am super tired from washing all the dogs, so this is one short blog post!

Roxy’s Ready for the Pool Party
Today after we left the doggy daycare, we took Roxy to one of her favorite dog stores in Edina, Bone Adventure. We are going to a friends cabin this weekend and Roxy needed a life jacket, just incase she decided to jump off the boat and go for a swim. If you have not checked out Bone Adventure, they are a great locally owned pet store at 50th and France in Edina,MN.
Speaking of swimming, are you going to join us for the Dog Pool Party / Dog Wash at the Galaxy Drive In? The fun starts Wednesday night at 4:30. Stop out, and Modern Life Photo will be snapping pictures of your pooch! The Galaxy Drive in is just 2 blocks from the PPP down Highway 7 in St Louis Park.

Another Warm Weekend!
Just a reminder to make sure that you keep your dog cool and hydrated when it gets so warm!I love this warm weather that we have been having. We wait all winter for the hot and humid days of summer, then we complain because it is too warm. Part of working at Pampered Pooch Playground involves having fun outside of the doggy daycare! Today Trycia, Ellen and Lauren all learned to paddle board on Lake Calhoun with Lulu Lemon. They have a brand new store in the West End in St Louis Park,MN but our favorite store is still the one on 50th st. in Minneapolis because they are dog friendly! Trycia now wants to buy a paddle board and take Roxy out on it. Who knows if that will happen!
Sorry this blog past had nothing to do with our doggy daycare and hotel service, but I thought it was cool to talk about!
