Rembering Luc

April 7, 2010 by Keith | 1 Comment

Many of you know that one of our good friends is Ali Jarvis who was the founder of Sidewalk Dog and she has done so much for the Twin Cities dog community.  This past week she had to put her dog Luc down because of some of his health problems.  Many times at events you would see me walking around holding Luc, and Ali joked that I was his dad.  Luc was the inspiration behind Sidewalk Dog and trying to bring the dog community in the Twin Cities closer together.

You can read more about this on the Sidewalk Dog Blog.

Go give your pooch a big hung and let them know how special they are!

Food Drive Update

December 11, 2009 by Keith | Comments Off

Last Saturday we sponsored the “Tails Up” food drive for the Pet Project at Fetch Delivers. We raised over 10,000 pounds of food and over $1000 in cash for this great group.  Thanks again to everyone that came out to support them!  In the picture are Jodel from the Ollu Dog Wash and Ali from Sidewalk dog and dogs George (with Santa) and Luk (in my lap).

Have a great day!

Thanks!

December 6, 2009 by Keith | Comments Off

Thanks to everyone that came out to both locations of pictures with Santa.  Both places were a HUGE success and we can’t thank everyone enough.  Trycia and I were at the Fetch Delivers location  and, it was great to see lots of our dogs show up and we collected lots of dog food and money for the Pet Project. Our booth was right next to Sarah Beth Photography and we took a break and took a picture ;) .  Also in the picture is Luk, who is in my arms, and he belongs to Ali from Sidewalk Dog. One highlight was when Fletcher, one of our doggy daycare dogs (aka @fletchmasterp on twitter) donated a huge supply of dog food that his parents won in an essay contest.

At the Pampered Pooch Playground Matt and Amber from Modern Life Photo were taking pictures for the Boxer Rescue.  Matt texted me about an hour after the event started and said that he was amazed with the turnout! Later in the day, Matt told me that they raised over $1000 for the boxer rescue, and this was the biggest turnout that they have ever had.  We are so excited to have been part of it, and can’t wait for next year!  Oh, Roxy had to show up and get her picture taken!!

Have a doog weekend!

PPP in print

November 18, 2009 by Keith | Comments Off

Today, the December edition of Minnesota Monthly came out, and they listed 15 ways to spoil your pet. Guess who was 1st on the list?  That’s right, the PPP!When I heard the good news, I sent Trycia to Byerly’s to get a few copies of the article.    We have the article on our website if you want to read it.  Also featured on the list are Sarah Beth Photography, Sidewalk Dog, Woody’s Pet Food Deli and Scoopy Poo.  We are great friends those businesses and it is wonderful to be in their company.  If you want to read the whole article, we have a copy at the daycare.

Have a good night.

Pet Haven Fall Benefit

November 8, 2009 by Keith | 1 Comment

PA070064This past Saturday night was the Pet Haven Fall Benefit and since we were one of the big sponsors of the event, we had a table for 10 people.  We took our managers, and a few of our close friends with us.  I felt it was really important to take our managers to show them where all of their hard work with our foster dogs goes (in the picture are Vanessa, Ash and Erin).  As many of you know we always foster 2 dogs for Pet Haven, and one of our foster dogs, Trevor was in their doggy fashion show.  He looked so awesome in his little top hat and bow tie.  Sarah Beth Photography was there taking lots of pictures and she will have them up soon.

This weekend we also had a booth at The Affair that we shared with some of our Sidewalk Dog friends.  It was a great event, and thanks to all of our customers who came out.

Have a good night.

2 dogs, 1 table

October 29, 2009 by Keith | Comments Off

Hawkeye and RoxyThe other day, Trycia was trimming Hawkeye’s nails and our dog Roxy decided she wanted to jump up on the grooming table!  Roxy really loves to run around the building and it is not uncommon for her to be sitting in the lobby greeting people.  It is just strange, because Roxy is not a huge fan of the grooming area.  Oh well, I guess Hawkeye showed Roxy how easy it is!

As many of you know, we do lots of events with our friends at Sidewalk Dog and if you have not become their Facebook Friend, you really should. ;)

Today the construction on the new play area continued.  They installed 1/2 of the new fence, and it should be completed tomorrow.  Once Top Notch Fence is done, hopefully the flooring can get done this weekend.  Then we should be up and running by the middle of next week.

Get ready for our Woof-n-Treat Halloween party on Saturday.  It’s gonna be fun!

An end to a busy week.

8125_150219206851_23604646851_3194512_2156402_nWhoa, can you believe that fall is finally here?  We turned on the heat at the daycare for the first time today, and that is when it hit me that the nice warm weather is gone!!  Lilly, the basset hound is a regular face in doggy daycare, but this weekend she is staying in our hotel.  Lilly loves LOTS of attention and lots of belly rubs!  Lilly also knows the command “where’s your belly” and she will roll over on her back so you can rub it.

We are busy getting all ready for Monday, which is sure to be a big hit!  We sold off the naming rights to the Pampered Pooch Playground webcam blimp, to Sidewalkdog.com.  It will be now known as the SidewalkDog.com Webcam Blimp.  We launched it today, and it seems to be working good.  Visit our website on Monday to watch the video from it.

Also next week, our good friend Jessie from Stray Dog Arts will be making a trip to Red Lake Rosies rescue and is asking for donations.  Starting Monday, we will have a bin in the lobby for donations.  They are looking for just about anything from dog food, cat food, leashes, collars, bleach and laundry detergent.  For more information on Red Lake Rosies, you can visit their website. Please have all donations dropped off by noon on Friday.

Have a great weekend!

Toxic Poop!

September 3, 2009 by Keith | Comments Off

Canines_Clean_WaterDid you know that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) puts dog waste in the same category as oil and toxic chemicals? That’s why this past June the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board launched the “Canines for Clean Water” summer movie series—the most enjoyable way to crack down on improperly managed dog poop ever conceived.

Next up? MPRB , Pampered Pooch Playground and Sidewalk Dog are teaming up to host a super fun contest!

We’re looking for ten valid yet funny reasons to pick up after your dog. If you’re among the ten winners, your reason will appear on a poster along with a photo of your dog. Photos will be taken by Sarah Beth Photography; posters will be displayed throughout the Minneapolis park system and featured on Sidewalk Dog’s blog. Plus, all winners will receive cool gear from Stunt Puppy, and the grand prize winner will also receive a $50 gift card to Pampered Pooch Playground.  YIPPIE!!!!

Enter to win: Email your reason to ali@sidewalkdog.com by 9/30/09 (fall/winter themes welcome). Ten (10) winners will be chosen and notified shortly thereafter.  For more details visit sidewalkdog.com.

Good luck form all of us at the PPP!
