Minnetonka, mn Pick up the poop

Those of you that live near Minnetonka might have seen the “Pick up the poop” billboards, but did you know that the dog on it is one of our doggy daycare dogs?  Sydney the yorkie is not a local celebrity.  The city of Minnetonka created this billboard which is also running on their website and in the city news letter.  When it is cold out, it seems like some people like to forget to pick up the poop which can cause a serious health problem.  For more information, you can visit their website.

Mitzi loves to rock the hair clips at doggy daycare!

I don’t normally watch this show, but the one this week had the contestants on the show working at a doggie daycare in NYC.  It is always funny to me when you see “business men” trying to run a service business and what they think sells and people want.  The guys were so “business like” that I just had to laugh the entire show.  I think it really helps when a doggy daycare is run by dog people, not business people. ;)

We had a meeting on Thursday to discuss our 3rd annual Woof-n-Treat doggy halloween party and it will be the best yet!  I can’t wait to see all the cool costumes!

Lake Minnetonka Fun

dogs at big island on lake minnetonkaYesterday Trycia and I went out on one of our friends boats on Lake Minnetonka and once we got to Big Island, we saw so many dogs!  We were walking along all the boats and saw Fletcher the Bernese Mountain Dog that was swimming, and when he got tired he would lay on his water mattress!  We stopped to talk with the owner and bonded over Bernese Mountain Dogs (maybe one day Roxy will lay on the mattress like Fletcher).  I wish i brought our camera because it was the cutest thing I have ever seen.

We kept going and there must have been over 20 dogs that were all on boats or in the water.  Pretty cool!  My personal favorite was this picture I took of a guy pushing 4 of them on their water mattress.  He passed our boat 3 times!

Yappy Hour in Minnetonka, MN

Wow, what a turn out at Yappy Hour at Pairings Food and Wine in Minnetonka, MN.  So many people and it was great to see so many of our customers there. Trixie, the pug is one of the dogs that checks in for boarding in our hotel and she LOVED going to Yappy Hour.  This was her parents first time taking her to a restaurant and Trixie did wonderful!  Modern Life Pets was there snapping pictures of all the dogs, and the pictures will be on their website soon. If you are looking for a cool website that lists all the dog friendly places in the Twin Cities, check out Sidewalk Dog which is run by a good friend of ours.

Sunday Update

We had a great weekend with all of our doggie daycare and hotel dogs.  I think all of the dogs really liked the cooler weather today.  I stopped into the doggy daycare for a few hours today to do do some paining and some little projects that we can’t get done during the week!  Wow, the big dog room looks so fresh, with a new coat of paint on the walls (no the dogs did not get painted).

Yesterday, Trycia and I went to the Polish Festival and fell in love with the Polish Tatra Sheep Dogs that were there.  They remind me so much of Roxy, but all white!

If you are looking for something fun to do tomorrow night (Monday), stop out at Pairings Food and Wine in Minnetonka for Yappy Hour form 4-7pm.  They have a huge dog friendly patio and some amazing food and drinks.

Warm weather, cool dogs

It was another hot and humid day at doggy daycare today, but the big dogs enjoyed playing in the water.  Most of the big guys love the water and can’t get enough of it.  I was talking with one of our customers who is from the south today and she said she felt like she was back home with all the humidity.  Oh well, today should be the last day and then it will be back to normal.  Below you will see all the big guys loving the water.

Dr Sully and Camielle

Today, Anna, one of our doggy daycare employees got a great picture of Sully (who has the alter ego “Dr. Sully” to his friends and family) and Camielle outside having a great time.
