Yesterday we announced to everyone that we will be creating a new play area!  We are so very excited for this and know that it will help to allow a few more dogs in each day and it will help with our “waiting list” problem.  Over the past 2 months Trycia and I have been looking for ways that we can SAFELY handle a few more dogs, while keeping our fun and laid back feeling.  We never want to be a HUGE daycare where the dogs are wild and crazy all the time.  The construction has begun and should be completed next week!  We are so excited and now are busy working on the name of the room.  I keep joking that I want to sell the naming rights!

Did anyone check out who the featured “model” was for the I am MPLS fashion show was today?  Thats Right, Roxy and I were the featured models!  Pretty cool!  The show is Thursday, November 18th at the Fine Line Music Cafe in Minneapolis.  I AM MPLS! is a creative event featuring comedy, a fashion show and live music that serves as a platform to showcase why Minneapolis is such an exciting city. The goal of I AM MPLS! is to recognize, appreciate and connect those who work behind the scenes to make our city diverse, creative, and inspirational.  More information is on the I am MPLS website.

What a fun event today!

There were lots of yummy dog treats at the mall of america today!

Today, Trycia and I got up early and headed to the Home For Life “Doggone Early Dog Walk” at the Mall of America.  There were a bunch of happy dogs walking around Nickelodeon Universe with their owners.  We had a bunch of dog treat bags, and one of the great danes was so excited that he did not have to jump on the table to get it.  He just walked up and his head happened to be the right height :)

This afternoon we started a fun and new exciting project for the doggy daycare.  I don’t want to ruin what is about to happen, but I think many of you will be really happy.  Details very, very soon!

Tiko and Jack

Today Anna one of our doggy daycare staff snapped the priceless picture of Tiko and Jack.  Jack (the one under Tiko) is a regular at doggy daycare, and Tiko is a regular face in our pooch hotel.  This might be one of the funniest pictures that I have seen in a long time.

AS some of you might know, Trycia and I are busy working on opening Bubbly Paws, which is a self service dog wash and dog spa which will be located in St Louis Park.  Today I put together a video to show off what it will be like.  It is on the front page of bubblypaws.com.

Woof-n-Treat 2010

Staci Matthews from the KS95 Moon and Staci show hosted the costume contest. Staci and I worked together for 5 years prior to opening Pampered Pooch Playground!

Our 3rd annual Woof-n-Treat halloween party was a HUGE success!  The Pet Project was able to raise over $1449.00 which will go directly to vet care and food for those pet owners in need!  There were so many awesome costumes and everyone had a great time in the costume contest.  Sarah Beth Photography was walking around snapping pictures of the event and we will have them up very soon.  Each of the businesses at the event had to have a game for everyone to play, and my personal favorite was the one that Bone Adventure did.  I don’t even know how to describe their game other than random and fun!

FOX 9 News

FOX 9 was doing a live shot from the doggy daycare today to help promote the Woof-n-Treat doggy halloween party.  They were live for 4 hours today, and Ellen our manager was featured on the last break!  Way to go Ellen and it was so much fun seeing so many of our dogs in costumes!

Ember and Max love the fall weather in Minneapolis!

Ok, since it has been raining the past 2 days, I decided we needed to have a bright picture on the blog to make us think of warmer times!  So here ya go!

It has been a crazy 2 days with media attention for Pampered Pooch Playground.  Yesterday morning KARE 11 stopped out for our doggy halloween costume fashion show.  After they left, a film crew from LA stopped out and they will be filming through the end of the day today!   Roxy and I are being featured on a web series for Buick and Bing and we are showing off all of the dog friendly businesses in the Twin Cities.  Pretty cool!  This web series will launch in January and I will share more details when I am able to.  We got out of the car at a resturant yesterday, and I felt like we were on TMZ!  There were 5 video cameras and a guy with a big microphone!  Roxy thought she was a rockstar!  So that is why I have been a little MIA from the PPP!

Ok, time to put the finishing touches on the Woof-n-Treat party!

PPP on the KARE 11 Morning News

Today was a super early morning for us at Pampered Pooch Playground, but it was well worth it.  Jeff Olson from the KARE 11 Morning News stopped out for a doggy costume fashion show and to promote our Woof-n-Treat halloween party that is a fundraiser for the Pet Project.  Have fun watching the clips below!  You will notice one mistake in the clip.. I called the Puggle Mugsy (who is also staying over in our hotel), and the name should have been Rani.  I am so sorry for the mistake and gave both puggles an extra treat!  Thanks to Bone Adventure for the costumes!

KARE 11 at the PPP Tomorrow

KARE 11 News and street reporter Jeff Olson will be at Pampered Pooch Playground bright and early Monday morning (4:45am to be exact) to talk about our Woof and Treat doggy halloween party and the Pet Project.  The halloween party is a fundraiser for the Pet Project and 100% of the money donated goes directly to the pet project.  Tune into KARE 11 starting at 5am on Monday to see us :)
