dalmation mixKiko (dalmatian mix) has spent the last 9 nights boarding with us in our dog hotel and enjoys spending time with the smaller dogs.   The highlight of my day was when Kiko was reunited with his family in our lobby today.  She was so excited to see everyone!  I can’t wait for her to come back soon!

On a side note, Penny and Charlie’s mom is very involved with the Taste of the NFL  Join them this Friday at the Mall of America, as they try to fight hunger, and you have a chance to win tickets to the Superbowl.   For more information you can visit their website.Kiko

Have a good night.

Princess Leia

January 5, 2010 by Keith | Comments Off

Yesterday Princess Leia checked in for her day at doggy daycare.  Princess enjoys playing in our “Waggers Way” play room and lives to have her butt rubbed.  If you rub it the right way, she will do a little dance :)   Princess is a cold weather dog and loves to go “logging” at the dog park.  She will jump in the river and fetch a log.

With this extreme cold weather, I can’t stress enough the importance of making advance reservations.  We only have a few spaces open for Thursday, so if you need daycare this week, make your reservation now.

One Tired Pooch

January 3, 2010 by Keith | Comments Off

We have 2 white boxers named Roxy and Rowy that come on a regular basis to dog daycare.  Today was no exception, and Roxy and Rowdy played in the “Ruff House”.  Tonight their parents sent me a picture of Rowdy passed out on their bed.  So cute!  Roxy and Rowdy’s parents run modern life photography!

It was sad to see so many of our hotel dogs go home today.  Some of them were with us for a bunch of nights!  Starting tomorrow, things should be back to normal with the daycare ;)

Have a good night.

PPP in print

November 18, 2009 by Keith | Comments Off

Today, the December edition of Minnesota Monthly came out, and they listed 15 ways to spoil your pet. Guess who was 1st on the list?  That’s right, the PPP!When I heard the good news, I sent Trycia to Byerly’s to get a few copies of the article.    We have the article on our website if you want to read it.  Also featured on the list are Sarah Beth Photography, Sidewalk Dog, Woody’s Pet Food Deli and Scoopy Poo.  We are great friends those businesses and it is wonderful to be in their company.  If you want to read the whole article, we have a copy at the daycare.

Have a good night.

Happy 13th Birthday!

October 19, 2009 by Keith | Comments Off

photoA HUGE birthday shout out to Bigsby who just turned 13 today!  Bigsby comes to dog daycare almost every day and he always hangs out in the small dog room.  Bigsby might be 13 but he is young at hart and prances back to the playroom every morning.  He is such a sweet dog!  We know that he will love the new room that we are building which should be done in a few weeks.

Speaking of the new room, I put fresh paint on the walls today and everything keeps moving forward.  If all goes well, things should be done in about 2 weeks.  Keep stopping back for updates :)

Have a good night.

An end to a busy week.

8125_150219206851_23604646851_3194512_2156402_nWhoa, can you believe that fall is finally here?  We turned on the heat at the daycare for the first time today, and that is when it hit me that the nice warm weather is gone!!  Lilly, the basset hound is a regular face in doggy daycare, but this weekend she is staying in our hotel.  Lilly loves LOTS of attention and lots of belly rubs!  Lilly also knows the command “where’s your belly” and she will roll over on her back so you can rub it.

We are busy getting all ready for Monday, which is sure to be a big hit!  We sold off the naming rights to the Pampered Pooch Playground webcam blimp, to Sidewalkdog.com.  It will be now known as the SidewalkDog.com Webcam Blimp.  We launched it today, and it seems to be working good.  Visit our website on Monday to watch the video from it.

Also next week, our good friend Jessie from Stray Dog Arts will be making a trip to Red Lake Rosies rescue and is asking for donations.  Starting Monday, we will have a bin in the lobby for donations.  They are looking for just about anything from dog food, cat food, leashes, collars, bleach and laundry detergent.  For more information on Red Lake Rosies, you can visit their website. Please have all donations dropped off by noon on Friday.

Have a great weekend!

A few random thoughts.

sodasnap

This weekend Trycia and I went away to Duluth for a few days and I am sitting in the lobby of the hotel sipping a coffee and a few thoughts from the week came to me:

1- I ordered a bunch of items (9) for the daycare from Amazon.com all of which were the same and very small.  I just logged in to track their progress and they all came from the same warehouse, and Amazon decided to put each one in their own box.  So now the UPS man will be delivering 9 boxes rather than 1.  Come on Amazon, what are you thinking, try going green!  When we order products for the doggy daycare, we try to find the most green option out there.

2- Last night we went out to Fitger’s brewhouse for dinner and while sitting on the patio we started to talk to some people who just came in with their dog.  They said that they were also from Minneapolis and I made the comment of how much more dog friendly Minneapolis is than Duluth.  Minneapolis places in the top 10 list of dog friendly cities in the United States.  If you are looking for dog friendly places in Minneapolis, make sure to check out Sidewalk Dog.  After talking to these people more, we found out that they go to one of the Minneapolis dog parks and know one of our dogs that comes to daycare pretty often.  Talk about random.

That is about all for now!  Have a great sunday!
