Lilah is a golden retriever puppy that looks forward to coming to doggy daycare every week. When she is not running and wrestling with the other golden retrievers in the Ruff House she can be seen enjoying our water sports outside, one of her favorites is the sprinkler. Lilah will do just about anything if it involves water from chasing and drinking from the hose to laying in the pool to cool off. Lilah is friends with every dog, but some of her best friends are the other golden puppies; Boon, Cody, and Rosie.

Style Hounds has moved
Today, our good friend Sarah Beth dropped off some new artwork for our lobby! This exhibit called “Style Hounds” originally appeared at Bone Adventure in Northeast Minneapolis, but now some of these amazing pictures are at our doggy daycare. This artwork is pretty cool, because it is different that Sarah’s typical work and I am really happy with it. All of these prints are available for purchase from Sarah, just contact her from her website for more information. A few of the dogs in the pictures are some of our daycare dogs. Pretty cool! Sarah is also a close friend of ours and we are going to be taking a trip to Seattle with her in September to visit a photographer and a few doggy daycares.
Have a great day!

We’re More than Doggy Daycare
So many of my blog posts focus on what goes in at Doggy Daycare, and I always seem to forget about the other services we offer like Training and our Spa / Grooming Services. I am going to work harder to talk about these services, because I know many of you take advantage of them. Today I had a meeting in our training room (I hate to meet in our office, so we use our training room as a office sometimes). Heather had the first Play and Train session with Reagan today who is a golden retriever puppy. We are the only doggy daycare to offer a play and train program. You drop your dog off for a day of daycare and Heather will work 1 on 1 with your dog to achieve the behavior you want. This is a great program and I love that so many of our customers take advantage of it.
Have a great night.

Wally
Wally the Italian Greyhound has tons of energy and really enjoys coming to doggy daycare. He can normally be seen hanging out with all of his friends in Waggers Way.
Some exciting news for all of you coffee drinkers. After much input from our customers and employees, we have decided to switch the coffee that we brew for the lobby. This afternoon I brewed our first pot of Dunn Brothers Coffee and it was great! I really like the “Dunn” because they are a great local company and will roast the beans custom for the PPP! So over the next few days we will be brewing both the Caribou like we have always had, and the new Dunn Brothers. All of the money collected from the coffee in the lobby is donated to Pet Haven. Let me know your feedback.
Have a great night.

First game of the season!
Bella the pom has been spending the past few nights boarding in our dog hotel. Today she was in the “Zen Den” getting lots of attention! Bella loves to run and play, but she also loves to cuddle with our staff.
Tonight is the first game for the Pampered Pooch Playground kickball team! The team is made up of some of out staff and some of our friends. Last yeat we finished 500, so we are looking to do the same thing. Wish “Team Red Hots” good luck tonight in the Minneapolis Park and Rec kickball league.
Have a good night.

2 years!
Today was our 2 year anniversary and I spent some of the afternoon in the “Waggers Way” play area talking to Vanessa who was one of one of out firststaff members about how things have changed. She remembers a day when Trycia called her to come in early because we had 9 dogs and needed extra help! Now we are able to look back and laugh at that. One thing that we have really tried hard to do in the past 2 years is to always make sure we are having fun, and taking excellent care of our the dogs, our customers and our staff. Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 22nd from noon-2pm for our 1 year anniversary party! More details will follow soon.
You might have noticed our new outside area. We are very excited for this area, and today was the first full day of use and the dogs really loved it! The grass is recycled from an old baseball stadium and we are one of the first daycares in the country to do this. Brandy (in the picture) was one of the dogs that had so much fun outside today! Brandy was also one of our first dogs that came to doggy daycare when we first opened!
Have a great night.

A Sunny Week
Here is one of my favorite pictures from the past week at doggy daycare. Simon the bulldog loves to lay outside in the sun. Last Friday we were putting together something new for the outside area, and there was Simon watching our every move. He will be really excited with what we have planned for our outside area. Next Sunday (weather permitting) everything will begin! You want to know what is going on??? We will be the first doggy daycare in the Twin Cities to use recycled sports turf in the outside area. The gravel will be covered with some of the University of Arazona turf (who knows there might be a 50 yard line somewhere). We are really excited for this, and it is just another way that we try to be green!
Naptime in the Zen Den
Everyone always asks how our group naptime works…. Well check out this picture of Ember and Mitzi hanging out on the couch in the Zen Den. We are the only doggy daycare in the Twin Cities to have group nap times and the dogs really love it.
Have a great night.

Remy – Roxy's Inspiration
Remy is one of our most laid back boxers that come to doggy daycare. Remy is so easy going, and just loves being around people and other dogs. Remy wanders between the rooms, and loves getting attention from our staff in the room. Remy is a certified therapy dog, and he was one of the reasons that we wanted our dog Roxy to become a therapy dog. Our class starts in the middle of March, so you might see us working on some training with her in the lobby from time to time.
Have a good night.

Which Pom is it??
We have 2 pomeranians that come to doggie daycare often (Bella and Poomba). Both of them are great and so behaved and have a great time playing. Today Bella (in the picture) was here and tearing it up in the little dog room. Bella gets excited each time someone walks in the room, she has to run up to you right away to greet you! I got all excited when Bella’s dad came to pick her up because I thought Bella was the icon on our Facebook page. But after looking close, it was Poomba!! I felt like a dork!
Today was our first day back since our vacation and I honestly really missed all the dogs! It is nice to get away, but it is great back into the regular swing of things.
Have a good night!
Keith
