Princess Leia

Yesterday Princess Leia checked in for her day at doggy daycare. Princess enjoys playing in our “Waggers Way” play room and lives to have her butt rubbed. If you rub it the right way, she will do a little dance Princess is a cold weather dog and loves to go “logging” at the dog park. She will jump in the river and fetch a log.

With this extreme cold weather, I can’t stress enough the importance of making advance reservations. We only have a few spaces open for Thursday, so if you need daycare this week, make your reservation now.

Hotel dog nap time

Today, Melissa one of our staff members caught Lobster (golden retriever) and Casper (boxer puppy) snuggled up taking a nap together. Today the staff was really busy getting things together for next week and making sure everything is in place. Just a reminder, we are full for dog daycare on the 23rd and 24th, and if you plan to attend other days, please make your reservation soon as there are only a few spaces. This Sunday night is our staff holiday party and late pick up will not be available.

Snow and Doga

Today was another big day for our dog daycare and hotel guests. The day started out with our hotel dogs helping me shovel our outside play area. We shovel an area for some of our smaller dogs or dogs that don’t like the snow. It was great to see the happiness in the dogs when they ran outside and saw all of the snow. Then later in the morning, Trycia and I bundled up and brought the daycare dogs outside for a long play session. They had so much fun tearing it up in the snow. We put a few videos on our facebook fan page.

Nap time on the new bed

Ember and Weenie love the new red beds that we just picked up. Both dogs come for doggie daycare 3 times a week and love spending some time on the bed together.

Some great news from the weekend events. The food drive we did for the Pet Project raised over 10,000 pounds of food and over $800 in cash. The Minnesota boxer rescue raised $1000. We were so proud to be part of both events, and are amazed with the turnout! If you want to see some of the pictures, Modern Life Photo put them on their blog.

This wednesday, MA Rosco from the FOX 9 morning news will air her feature on DOGA which was shot at Pampered Pooch Playground. Don’t worry, if you can’t watch it, we will have all the clips on our website. Speaking of Doga, the next session is this Saturday morning, details are on our events page.

Penny Lane and Jude

This past weekend, 2 Shar-pei’s spent Thanksgiving with is. Penny Lane is the tan one, and Jude is the black one. Jude gets really, really excited when I walk into the daycare room, he is the first one to run up and say hello! Once you start petting these 2, they don’t let you stop. Over the weekend, we were sitting on some of the equipment in the Zen Den and Jude was right there next to me. It takes these guys a little while to open up with new people, but the minute they open up, they are all love!!

Today, we sent out a friendly reminder to make reservations for the holidays. We are 99% full for the 25th, so hurry and make that reservation.

MIA!

mia Mia is one the regular faces at the Pampered Pooch Playground Hotel. Mia is a Leonberger, and gets along great with the larger dogs and the smaller dogs. She is pretty laid back and will play for a few minutes and then watch everyone play. Mia is more of a people person and loves to be with people.

Our vacation is going great and thanks to Roxy and Rowdy’s dad we have an awesome tour lined up. Stand by for details on that. Last fall when we were here we came across the Winery Dogs of Sonoma and Napa. It is a great book, with amazing pictures. We looked up Bernese Mountain Dog, and the winery that had it was about an hour and a half away, so we decided not to visit. I just checked in with Ash at the daycare and everything is running nice and smooth. I knew this would be the case, but it just makes me feel batter. You can call me an over protective parent.

Small and Fluffy

8125_131739956851_23604646851_3001200_5268688_n This was a full weekend at the Pampered Pooch Playground Hotel and all the dogs did great! One of the smaller dogs that has been staying with us for the past few nights is Poomba (pomeranian), who has a great time playing with all of the smaller dogs. Poomba really enjoys sitting outside and catching the sun. I went in with the smaller dogs today, and Poomba loves to greet you the minute you walk in the room.

I have mentioned before, and I will say it again, I feel that we have an amazing staff. Trycia and I are going to be going out of town this week and know that the daycare will be in great hands. We did not take a vacation over the summer because we were so busy with the dogs, and every year right after labor day we like to go away to celebrate our anniversary. The past 2 years we have gone to Napa Valley, and this year we will be going to Sonoma Valley. Don’t worry, there will still be blogs posts as I can never get too far away from the PPP. Last year when we visited San Francisco for a day, we found the Barkology line of clothing, so who knows what we will come back with for the daycare. We always visit a daycare while we are gone to get new ideas.
